WordPress and WooCommerce development

We build websites, landing pages and online stores on WordPress and WooCommerce: a custom theme for your brand, few plugins, editing without a developer, and speed and technical SEO from day one. WordPress is the right choice when the site has to grow with your business and you want to own it completely.

When to choose WordPress & WooCommerce

  • Your team wants to edit the site itself: pages, articles, services, prices
  • You plan content marketing and SEO — a blog, many service pages, several languages
  • A store with unusual logic: complex pricing, supplier feeds or imports from an ERP
  • You prefer no platform subscription and your data on hosting you control
  • You need integrations with a CRM, messengers, payments and accounting

When another platform fits better

  • Nobody — in-house or external — will keep the site updated and secure
  • You sell internationally and want the least technical overhead — Shopify is simpler
  • A design-led marketing site the team wants to edit visually — Webflow is handier
  • A product with accounts, roles and heavy business logic — better as a Next.js app

Why WordPress is still the default choice

WordPress is an open-source content management system: there is no licence fee, you can move the site to any host and hire any developer. There are thousands of themes and plugins, and plenty of people who know it. That makes it a safe place to start and to grow — from a ten-page site to a content hub with hundreds of articles and a store with thousands of products.

Popularity has a downside, though. Most of the slow and hacked sites we see in technical audits are WordPress installs with a heavy multipurpose theme, a page builder and twenty plugins nobody updates. The problem is not the platform but the way it was put together.

How we build on WordPress

  • A custom theme for your design rather than a do-everything template, so each page loads only the code it needs. For a pharmaceutical group we built one theme on ACF blocks plus Vite-built child themes for sites in different countries.
  • Editing without a developer. We set up ACF fields and blocks or the Gutenberg editor so your team can change copy, prices and photos without breaking the layout.
  • Few plugins. Every plugin means updates, risk and extra scripts. Small pieces of logic go into the theme or mu-plugins — like the assessments module we built for an agency platform.
  • Speed and SEO from day one: caching, compressed images, clean markup, schema.org, sitemaps. For image performance we even have our own plugin, Image Optimizer.
  • Integrations: forms that send enquiries to a CRM or internal system via API, Telegram notifications, GA4 and GTM analytics.

WooCommerce: a store on WordPress

WooCommerce turns WordPress into a full online store: catalogue, cart, payments, shipping, discounts. Its big strength is flexibility — almost any pricing, filtering or checkout logic is possible, and running costs come down to hosting. The trade-off is that a WooCommerce store needs technical care: updates, backups and an eye on performance as the catalogue grows.

One example from our work is a WooCommerce store for building materials: a Storefront child theme, product specs in ACF fields, catalogue import from the client’s accounting system, delivery with branch selection at checkout, WP Rocket caching and technical SEO with Yoast.

This website runs on WordPress too — with a custom theme whose pages are generated from a git repository instead of being edited by hand in the admin.

Migrating to and from WordPress

To WordPress people usually move from site builders that have become too restrictive, or from old custom systems nobody can maintain. We move pages, articles, products and images, keep URLs or set up 301 redirects from the old ones, carry over meta tags and check indexing after launch.

Between hosts a WordPress site moves completely, because the files and the database are yours. That is how we deployed a local brand site for a distributor in Kazakhstan and migrated its content.

Away from WordPress makes sense once the site has become a product with accounts and complex logic — then it is more honest to build a Next.js application and keep WordPress for content or drop it. For a store that is tired of managing hosting, the alternative is Shopify.

What to check before and after the move so you keep your Google traffic is in our site migration checklist for keeping your rankings.

Not sure the move is worth it? Tell us about your site and we will recommend a path and give you a price.

FAQ

FAQ

How much does a WordPress website cost?

A landing page starts at €500, a business site or redesign at €1,200 and a WooCommerce store at €2,000. The exact price depends on the number of pages, design and integrations; we quote it after a brief.

Is WordPress secure?

Yes, as long as core and plugins are updated on time, plugins are few and the host keeps backups. Most hacks come from outdated plugins or pirated themes. Our support plans with updates and backups start at €100 a month.

Do you use Elementor or other page builders?

New sites get a custom theme with ACF or Gutenberg blocks — faster and easier to maintain. We do support and extend existing Elementor sites.

Will I be able to edit the site myself?

Yes. Copy, photos, prices, articles and new pages built from ready-made blocks are all edited in the admin without a developer. We show you how after launch.

Can WooCommerce handle a large catalogue?

Yes, with proper optimisation: caching, good hosting, careful filters and imports. Our building materials store runs thousands of products with bulk imports of items and images.

Can you connect our CRM and payment provider?

Yes. WooCommerce has ready-made extensions for most payment gateways, and where none fits we build a custom integration with your CRM or accounting system.
