Next.js development: web platforms, dashboards, SaaS
We build web platforms, customer dashboards, SaaS products and internal systems on Next.js — as well as fast websites that have outgrown a CMS. We write TypeScript with a NestJS or Node.js back end and PostgreSQL. Next.js is the right choice when the site is a product with its own logic, not just a set of pages.
When to choose Next.js
- You need user accounts, roles, calculations or real-time data
- You are building a SaaS product or an internal system that must scale
- The public site and the dashboard should share one logic and one design
- You need integrations with APIs, trading terminals, AI models or your own database
- Speed and control over every line of code matter more than ready-made plugins
When another platform fits better
- A regular business website or blog — WordPress is faster and cheaper
- A typical online store — that is what Shopify or WooCommerce are for
- Marketing wants to build pages visually — Webflow is handier
- No budget for development and ongoing maintenance of custom code
What Next.js is
Next.js is a React framework for building web applications and websites. It can serve pages rendered on the server or generated ahead of time, so search engines get ready HTML and users get a fast first screen. On top of that sits a full React interface: dashboards, validated forms, data updates without page reloads. Next.js is not a CMS or a site builder — it is the foundation a developer uses to write your product.
Strengths
- No platform limits. Any logic, integration or interface is just a matter of development time.
- Speed and SEO. Server rendering and static generation give fast pages that index well.
- One stack for everything: landing page, dashboard and admin in TypeScript, with shared code and a shared design system.
- Flexible hosting: cloud platforms, your own server or Docker.
Limitations
- Higher upfront cost. What a CMS gives you out of the box — an admin, page editing, roles — has to be designed and built.
- Developer dependency. Without a team that knows the codebase, it is hard to evolve. That is why we write documentation and tests.
- Content needs its own solution: a headless CMS, a custom admin or files in the repository.
How we build with Next.js
The clearest example is our crypto asset trust management platform. A TypeScript monorepo (pnpm and Turborepo): landing page and investor dashboard on Next.js, a NestJS back end, PostgreSQL. Fee calculation lives in one shared, tested package, so the calculator on the website and the server always agree. The server stores trading terminal data idempotently and serves it to the dashboard; sign-in is via Google with a server-side session, the admin is reachable only over VPN, and a strict CSP is in place.
Our own products run on Next.js too: Parcel Lead for finding and qualifying B2B leads (Prisma, PostgreSQL), SiteForge AI, which generates a site from a written brief, and the Traffic Engine interface on top of a Python and FastAPI back end. So we don’t just hand such projects over — we maintain them ourselves every day.
Next.js or a CMS?
| Next.js | WordPress | Webflow | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Accounts, roles, calculations | Yes, no limits | Possible but awkward | No |
| Content editing | Via headless CMS or admin | Built in | Built in |
| Upfront cost | Higher | Lower | Lower |
| Performance | Best when built well | Depends on theme and plugins | Good |
Often the best answer is a hybrid: a marketing site on WordPress or Webflow, with the dashboard and product on Next.js.
What you get at the end
- Code in your repository with full history — it belongs to you, not the studio.
- Documentation: how to run the project, how it is structured and how it deploys.
- Tests for critical logic — calculations, permissions, payments.
- Automated deployment and a separate staging environment.
- Access to hosting, database and third-party services in your name.
Server rendering in Next.js also matters for visibility: search and AI crawlers mostly read the raw HTML (see how to show up in ChatGPT and Google AI answers), and speed drives Core Web Vitals (see slow website: what to fix first).

Moving to Next.js
Teams usually move to Next.js for one of two reasons. Either a WordPress site or a builder has grown a pile of plugins and workarounds to handle accounts or calculations, and every change breaks something. Or a product has outgrown no-code tools and keeps hitting their limits.
We don’t rewrite everything at once. First comes a technical discovery: what works, what needs rewriting, what data has to move. Then we move in stages — for example, the dashboard goes to Next.js first while the marketing site stays where it is. Public URLs are kept or 301-redirected, and data is migrated with scripts and reconciliation.
Moving off Next.js back to a CMS makes sense when the “product” turned out to be a regular website and maintaining custom code costs more than it brings. Then we will honestly recommend WordPress.
Describe your idea or system and we will prepare a technical solution with a phased estimate.
FAQ
How much does Next.js development cost?
A web platform or SaaS starts at €5,000, with a timeline from 60 days; a product landing page from €500. We give an exact estimate after discovery, breaking the work into phases.
Is Next.js better than WordPress?
Not better — for different jobs. WordPress is faster and cheaper for content sites. Next.js is needed when you have accounts, roles, calculations and complex integrations.
How is content edited on a Next.js site?
Through a headless CMS, a custom admin or files in the repository — we choose based on who edits content and how often.
Where is the application hosted?
On a cloud platform, your own server or in Docker. We choose based on load, security requirements and budget.
Can we start with an MVP?
Yes, and we recommend it: ship the core scenario to real users first, then grow based on data. Our own products started as MVPs too.
Who maintains the project after launch?
We do, with support plans from €100 a month. You get the full code, documentation and access, so you can hand the project to another team at any time.
