Sound familiar?

  • The site looks outdated and is hard to trust
  • It is awkward to use on a phone
  • There is traffic but almost no enquiries
  • Every small change means finding someone to do it

What is included

  • Research of your niche, competitors and what already works
  • Structure and copy that lead to an enquiry
  • Brand-aligned design, fully responsive
  • Development on WordPress (or Shopify / Webflow when it fits better)
  • Technical SEO: speed, meta tags, schema.org, sitemap
  • Lead forms, analytics and a hand-over session

Website development with Clientlume means a new website or a redesign of your current one, from niche research and structure to launch with analytics and technical SEO in place. It is built for small and medium businesses that need the site to bring in enquiries, not just exist. Prices start at €1,200 and timelines at 30 days; the exact figure is fixed in the proposal before work starts.

Who needs a new website or a redesign

  • You get visitors but almost no enquiries. The cause is rarely the colour scheme. More often the structure is the problem: visitors cannot tell what you offer, what it costs or how to get in touch. See why a website does not generate leads.
  • The site looks outdated: slow, awkward on a phone and hard to trust. The warning signs are on our outdated website page.
  • Your business has grown: new services, languages, locations or markets, while the website stayed the same.
  • You depend on one developer and cannot change even a price or phone number yourself.
  • You have no website, and people searching for you on Google find competitors instead.

New website or redesign: how to decide

A redesign makes sense when the platform is healthy and updated, the content is still accurate, and the problem is the look, speed or usability. A new build is the better option when the system has not been updated for years, every change breaks something else, or the structure no longer matches how you sell. Either way, we keep what already works: pages with traffic, Google rankings and links from other sites. Before we start, we export every old URL, and at launch we map each one to its new address with a 301 redirect.

Process and timeline

The overall timeline starts at 30 days. The split below is approximate and depends on the number of pages and how quickly copy is approved.

  1. Brief and research (first week). A call, a review of your current site and competitors: which pages bring traffic, where enquiries come from, what stops a visitor from getting in touch.
  2. Structure and wireframes. A page map built around real search queries, wireframes of key screens and a copy plan. We agree on content before design, when changes are still cheap.
  3. Design. Home page and inner page templates in your brand style. The mobile layout is designed from the start, not squeezed in at the end.
  4. Development and content. Front end, an easy admin, enquiry forms, content migration and language versions.
  5. Technical SEO and launch. Speed, meta tags, schema.org, sitemap, hreflang for languages, 301 redirects, Google Analytics and Search Console.
  6. Hand-over. We show your team how to edit pages and leave a short guide. Domain, hosting and every login are in your name.

How much a website costs and what drives the price

Option Price from Timeline from
Landing page for one service or campaign €500 10 days
Business website or redesign €1,200 30 days
Online store on WooCommerce or Shopify €2,000 45 days
Multilingual site with integrations (CRM, booking, accounting) custom quote custom

What moves the final figure:

  • Number of unique templates, not pages: twenty articles on one template cost less than five different landing pages.
  • Languages. Each version needs translation, its own meta tags and hreflang.
  • Integrations: CRM, payments, online booking, notifications, accounting.
  • Copy and photos. Writing or shooting them from scratch is a separate piece of work.
  • Content migration from the old site and the number of URLs that need redirects.

Platforms and technology

Our default is WordPress: it is easy to edit, many developers know it, and you are never locked in to us. For stores we use WooCommerce or Shopify. We also work with Webflow, Squarespace and BigCommerce when your site already lives there or your team prefers them, and with Next.js when the website is part of a larger product. We recommend the platform that fits the job, not the one that is most convenient for us.

Whatever the platform, the baseline is the same: responsive layout, compressed WebP images, proper meta tags, schema.org, a sitemap, analytics with enquiry events and admin access for your team.

Examples from our work

  • University admissions website on WordPress: a custom theme, forms that send applications straight into the university’s learning platform and an AI assistant for common questions.
  • Websites for a pharmaceutical group: several brand sites for different countries on a custom theme with ACF blocks and Vite-based child themes, with ongoing support.
  • Policy institute website on Webflow: a CMS rebuild with programmes, calendars and reports split into separate collections; the data was migrated without loss and checked with the client.

What to check before you hire a web developer

  • Who owns the domain, hosting and admin. Everything should be registered to you. If the vendor holds the domain, you depend on them. More on developer dependency.
  • A redirect plan for the redesign. Ask how old URLs will be preserved. Without 301 redirects a site can lose rankings it took years to earn.
  • Mobile layouts in the design stage. If you only see desktop mockups, the mobile version will be improvised later.
  • A clear scope in the proposal. A €300 website and a €3,000 website are different products. Compare whether copy, SEO, analytics, training and redirects are included.
  • Plugin count and speed. A theme with dozens of plugins looks cheap at the start but slows the site down and makes maintenance harder.
  • Enquiry tracking. Without conversion events in Google Analytics you will not know which pages and channels bring customers.

Getting started

Planning a redesign of an existing site? Read our redesign SEO checklist for keeping your Google rankings, and if you are comparing several vendors, see how to choose a web agency and which red flags to look for in a proposal.

Tell us about your business and what is wrong with the current site, or why you do not have one yet. After a short call we send a proposal with phases, price and timeline. If you already have a site, we will go through what is worth keeping on that call. Request a website quote.

FAQ

How much does a website cost?

From €1,200. We give an exact quote after a short call: it depends on the number of pages, languages, integrations and whether copy and photos are ready.

Can I edit the content myself?

Yes. The site runs on WordPress with a simple admin; after launch we show you how to edit pages and leave a short guide.

What happens to my current site and Google rankings?

We move the content that matters and set up 301 redirects from old URLs so you keep your search positions.

How long does it take to build a website?

A business website or redesign takes from 30 days, depending on the number of templates, languages and how quickly copy is approved. A single-service landing page takes from 10 days.

Which platforms do you build on?

Our default is WordPress. We also work with Webflow, Squarespace, Shopify, BigCommerce and Next.js, and recommend the platform that fits the job.

Is SEO included?

Technical SEO is included: speed, meta tags, schema.org, sitemap, 301 redirects and Google Search Console setup. Ongoing SEO and content are a separate service.
